Estate di quest’anno. Domenica. 24 gradi a Bucarest.

Inverno dello scorso anno. Domenica. -10 gradi a Bucarest.

This year’s summer. Sunday. 24 degrees in Bucharest.

For three days a year , Arthur Verona Street is pedestrians-only area.  Street Delivery, one of the most important urban event in Bucharest, is now at its sixth edition. It is a festival which aims to reinvent and improve the role of public space and urban landscape. This year on the street there is also a “temporary living-room” with people ghatering, relaxing on the sofa, drinking tea and exchanging things.

Last year’s winter. Sunday. -10 degrees in Bucharest.

Five friends, architecture students at Mincu University, decided that it would be a perfect day to put on the snow the living-room furnitures and start an experiment. Maybe they could repeat it in the future and point out the so many potential places in the city. They also invited other friends to join them and help to furnish the “room” by bringing something from their home, so they could exchange before leaving. It’s like exchanging stories. It is an action based on simple concepts: two or three hours together , relax on the sofa, tea, exchange of ideas, of objects, of tales. It’s something almost everyone would recognize. It’s something that makes people feel good but it is usually about private spaces.

Sufrageria is a romanian word which just means living-room and Sufrageria Urbana is the project of a meeting, in a temporary room, between personal and public space.

Sufrageria Urbana @ Street Delivery pictures and other “Sufragerie” pictures are published on their website.

The picture in this post are about the first “Sufragerie”. January 2010, Foisorul de Foc zone, Bucharest.

They’re nice and it’s a pleasure to watch them during this roman sunny afternoon.

Cassandra, kiss and see you soon!
